After the acid debut on ZUUR, it’s now a mini digi album on Spirit of Progress for Tonal Verges, an exploration of timeless dark techno sounds. Decidedly analogue-sounding, “The Inner Light” also explores mystic aspects, thus following a Drexcyian tradition.

Inducing the euphoria of minimalism, Tonal Verges are perfecting the art of the repetitive hook, combined with slicing beats and sparsely used vocal snippets. The centerpiece of this release is the extra long “The Blackness”, a black hole of sounds sucking you in, while all other tracks sport rather upfront kicks and qualify easily for DJ use.
